On October 21, the fourth 2025 webinar in the “AI in Office & Administration” series took place. Organized by AIR Artificial Intelligence Regensburg, the one-hour event explored “how AI is revolutionizing review processes and information services.”
Following opening remarks by Uwe Pfeil (Artificial Intelligence Regensburg), Christoph Reithmair of OmniCert Umweltgutachter GmbH and Catyana Heyne of OTH Regensburg presented the funded project “BAIcert – Bavarian Artificial Intelligence in Certification processes.” The goal of this joint project is to make previously analog and bureaucratic review and administrative processes more efficient through automated, AI-supported methods. A key focus is on the data-protection-compliant, multimodal extraction and review of documents. Relevant content is thus to be directly incorporated into the assessment report, or AI will serve as an assisting second reviewer. Technical challenges arise from complex layouts, varying image formats, and fluctuating image quality. The project is funded through the Bavarian Collaborative Research Program on Digitalization of the StmWi.
In the second presentation, Carolyn Molski from Regensburg Tourismus GmbH introduced GenAI-Chat, an AI-powered information service for visitors to the city’s tourism website. The digital assistant provides information on vacation topics, events, and local offerings—automatically, around the clock, and in over 100 languages. Special emphasis was also placed on the features for accessible communication as well as personalized recommendations based on weather data or user interests. Positive side effects: The solution also supports internal knowledge management and helps conserve resources by reducing the need for paper-based informational materials.
