For the second year in a row, the Youth Economic Summit took place in Regensburg on October 13, 2025. The event raised awareness among young people from Regensburg, Neumarkt, Ingolstadt, and Nuremberg about the opportunities and challenges facing the Bavarian economy. In-depth workshops in the morning and a diverse panel discussion in the afternoon motivated them to play an active role in shaping our future.
In the “Future Workshop” sessions, students had the opportunity to explore selected topics such as fake news, social media, and starting a business. TechBase Regensburg GmbH participated once again with its technology networks—Cluster AIR (Artificial Intelligence Regensburg) and Cluster Mobility & Logistics—and hosted a workshop titled “AI in the Fast Lane.” For two hours, 30 students worked in groups to develop and present their scenarios for mobility in the year 2050. They gave free rein to their creativity with ideas on autonomous driving, tunnels for freight transport, floor tiles that generate electricity through touch, sustainability, and electric airplanes. In the final part of the workshop, two main requests for policymakers and the business community quickly emerged: on the one hand, a comprehensive and, above all, well-structured public transit system; on the other hand, more legislation on AI that is implemented more quickly.
Participants from all workshops then presented the workshop results and their suggestions to the panel, which included State Secretary Tobias Gotthardt, TechBase Managing Director Alexander Rupprecht, IHK startup expert Julia Pirzer, and two founders.
The Youth Business Summit is organized annually by the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs.
